Alright, you ol' timers, listen up.  It was no doubt a studio band, but 
they sound like they really know what they're doing:

Does anyone know who played the dixieland-style music for the soundtrack 
of (ta-da) --

MY MOTHER THE CAR ???

Unique note:  This show's one season was on the air during my FIRST YEAR 
of life, but I swear I have the clearest memory of seeing Jerry Van Dyke 
drive down the road in that car, talking to it, and being talked to by 
it -- ahem -- her, during what had to be its first and only official 
run, as my memory of it is on the old 4-legger, oval-screened B&W that 
got replaced very early on in my wee life...,
