In the early 60s, I played 5 nights a week at a place in Sacramento called
Capone's Chicago Tea Room. It was a quite roughty place patterned after
a Chicago speak easy. Some of the nights, Don Lewis played banjo with me.

one night as we were performing, someone at a table kept shooting Don with a
water pistol. This was going on for quite a long time before Don
finally figured out who it was.

Right in the middle of a song, Don quit playing, set his banjo down, got off
the stage & walked over to the offending table. He said, "You think that's
funny?"

The guy replied "Yes," with a huge grin on his face.

Don picked up a completely full Picher of beer & poured it over the guys
head.

He then set the Picher down, walked back to the stage, picked up his banjo &
finished the song.

Throughout this entire thing, I had kept playing.
