While searching for the lyrics to this song I happened to stumble on the
following little
bit of (correct???) information at the site "Doctors of Jazz"
http://www/doctorsofjazz.org

The link to this particular page is:
http://www.doctorsofjazz.org/repertoire.htm
and it has interesting comments about several song titles

Here is the info on South Rampart Street Parade:

a.. South Rampart Street Parade* (Ray Bauduc and Bob Haggart) Recorded by
Bob Crosby's Band in 1937. Bauduc, Crosby's drummer and a native of the
Crescent City, originally enitled the piece "Bulls on Parade" after one of
the more flamboyant black social clubs from New Orleans, but the head of
Decca Records thought the title too esoteric for those outside the Crescent
City.

I've not found a link to the lyrics tho'
