[Dixielandjazz] Wild Bill With Strings

I have the original LP. It features a model in a 1950's sheer outfit 
that shows lots of skin but none of the naughty bits. Somebody once told 
me that Bill was so taken with the model on the cover that he couldn't 
rest until he tracked her down and seduced her.  I don't recall which of 
my associates here told me that, but it was somebody who reliably 
reported it as told to him by WBD himself. Doesn't mean it's true , of 
course ... just that at one moment in time, Bill would have liked to 
believe, ... or liked us to believe, that it was. They didn't call him 
Wild Bill for nothing.

Bill's pretty work didn't catch on the way, for instance, Hackett's did 
with Gleason or Jonah Jones' with his quartet. Perhaps the disparity 
between the recordings and Bill's image was just too much to overcome.
