You can buy a printing duplicator for $1800 and print your own labels. Yes
a lot of trouble but you get a CD that costs about a dollar counting CD, the
case and printing a folder. I did that last Christmas and ran about 50 or
so for my friends and a few clients. My cost was about the same as
Christmas cards. Factoring in the cost of a burner you are still less than
$2 per CD. You can have them silk screened for about 50-75 cents and buy a
regular burner cheaper. . . . "

I use my computer burner to produce demo CD's and typically do a run of 10.
Time is no problem and you can't beat the cost. I print the jewel case and
CD labels and the presentation looks professional and is effective.

The problem is that, quite frequently, I am told that the CD doesn't play at
all or only some tracks play. I burn at 4X and always spot check the CD
before sending, so they are OK when I send them.

I suspect that many people have inexpensive or older CD players that will
not effectively read a home-burned CD. Has anyone else experienced this and
is there an "in house" way to counteract? I use Nero burning software.
