This email came in from the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society website
(http://www.sacjazz.org). I got permission to pass it along to the
DJML. I've removed her name for privacy, but if you have any
information about her questions, I will forward them to her.
It's very pleasing to get such nice validation to what is a lot of
dedicated work on the part of the volunteers in our organization (of
which Ringwald and I are board members). I really have no interest in
posting this except to brag a little and to show that the efforts we all
make to invigorate youthful interest in traditional jazz does not go
unnoticed. It's nice to get a pat on the back every now and again.

I am a Sacramento transplant now living in the Greater Cincinnati area
with two high school musicians(Tuba/bass and Sax) in the house.
I mentioned to them this weekend that I would LOVE to take them and a
few of their band buddies (Trombone, Trumpet, Clarinet, Drums...we have
the perfect making of a great ensemble!) to the Sacramento Jazz Festival
( as we called it 20 years ago) so they could see LOTS of jazz as they
get so little of it here.
They quickly moved on to other things but it sparked my interest and I
couldn't believe what I found this morning when I went to your web site!
Wow! I wish we had such a fabulously strong jazz program here. Can you
tell me if there is a Jazz organization in Cincinnati, Kentucky or
Indiana?
Thanks for any information you may have and CONGRATULATIONS on all that
you do!
