Right on Bill.
Guarino, of all people, should know that Obbligato relates to obligated.
Actually "Obbligato" is what you are when the Godfather does you a favor.
Goes all the way back to the beginning of jazza which the Italians invented
and those Sicilian clarinetists. (regardless of what Ingle says) :-) VBG.
It is also what Larry Shields played in the ODJB ensembles, with the
patronly approval of Nick La Rocca, at all those Mafia joints.
