Just a note to say that big band trumpeter Chris Griffin died June 18. David 
French, a good friend of Griffin's and our new NY columnist (Joe Klee died 
April 30) will be writing a story on him for the August Mississippi Rag. (The 
July RAG is going to press tomorrow, so we've just mentioned his death in that 
issue.) In the meantime, David has a good interview with Griffin at 
www.allaboutjazz.com.
