Well, simplifying it a bit. Lets assume 88 notes of a piano
with a minimum time of a hemi-semi-quaver (32nd ?) and max
of a semi-brieve (whole note?) possibly doted, that's 12
times which gives 1056 possible first notes. Another 1056
possible second notes gives 1,115,136 two note tunes or
1,243,528,298,496 four note tunes. That's not including
rests or different accents. So we've got a while
to go yet.
