Dear Bill and friends,
I forgot to mention in my reference to Mr Brad Kay (pianist with Janet
Klein) and his restoration of the two 1932 Duke Ellington stereo sides, that
the Victor 'Program Transcription' recordings were 10" and 12", standard
groove, long-playing 33 1/3 rpm discs with over 7 1/2 minutes per side!
They were part of a Victor series which also included Louis Armstrong, Paul
Whiteman, Fred Astaire, Nat Shilkret, Hoagy Carmichael, Phil Ohman, Frank
Crumit and Victor Arden plus Classical music items.
The Ellington stereo transfers by Mr Kay are on an Everybodys LP (EV-3005)
and Hot'n Sweet CD (152332). These Ellington medleys from 3 and 9 Feb 1932
have been also been reissued (in mono), over the years, on LP and CD.
The Ellington medleys are "Mood Indigo/Hot and bothered/Creole Love Call"
And East St Louis Toodle-Oo/Lots O' Fingers/Black And Tan Fantasy".
Very kind regards,
Bill.
