"Pipe the shine" meant to beat the "shine" with a lead pipe,>> Hi Arnold, Talk about stretching a point to support an argument. There is absolutely no suggestion in the song or anywhere else that `Pipe the Shine` means attacking someone . Anymore than `Dig that cat` means attacking a feline with a shovel. Cheers Pat
