Stan -- Thanks for your response to my plea for help.    It is the most
detailed of the several I received and I would appreciate continuing with
this until I get some results if you don't mind.

Stupdly, I printed out everything yesterday and then deleted everything.
Now I wish I still had yours on the hard drive because I'd like to go
through it point by point.   I'm looking at it on paper but I can't put it
back up on the screen again to hit the points.

Could you send it again -- or would it be better to go on the phone?

For example -- You say, "I assume you've downloaded the plug-ins which you
want."     Wups!   Not so fast.   I go to Nero Wave Editor and open a
somewhat scratchy track wav file.   Then I click "enhancements" and "declick
and decrackle" and preview the results.    Good.    Then I click "add" and
up comes a notice "A preset entry with the same name already exists."

And that's the end of it.  I go back to the file and nothing has happened.
In other words, I never get to the point of having the plug-ins
recalculating the results in order to burn.

That's the missing bridge.    How do you activate the plug-ins -- get them
to function?   That same note comes up every time I click "add" on all the
effects and/or enhancements.   It's like the Berlin or West Bank or Chinese
Walls -- "No, mon, I refuse to cooperate until you push the magic button."
Where is the magic button hidden?    I've looked under the desk, in the
bathrooms, in the car.    No magic button.
