That's the lyric as I remember them. And yes, it was on Capital and Wingy
did add the word "boy" -- a fightng word since then.Good gray cells at work
there, Charlie my Boy! (Talk about a  song plug.)

This might not be verbatim exact, but it's, er, close enough for jazz.  If
this isn't right, it will have to do, until the real thing comes along.

Wasn't long ago
I was in my teens
and they played that way
down in New Orleans.

On Wingy Manone's record, Capitol, I think, he added "..., boy," after
"ago." Sharkey used to sing it when I was in my teens. And that WAS long
ago, boy.
