You're correct, Peter. I believe Phil's finger slipped on the decade number.
It should be November 16, 1943.
On the liner notes to the Swaggie LP "The Capitol Jazzmen", producer Dave
Dexter, Jr. says that Noone's health wasn't too good. Dexter had also lined
up Heine Beau just in case Noone couldn't handle the stress to his health of
the session. After the first 4 tunes were cut with Jimmie Noone, Jack
Teagarden cut "Mighty Lak' A Rose" without Noone or Billy May. Beau joined
the group on clarinet and May re-joined to record the last 2 tracks.
Jimmie Noone died of a heart attack about 3 months later on April 19, 1944.
