[Dixielandjazz] The Gin Bottle Seven

A friend of mine has a tape he made from a commercial reel to reel tape 
of a band called "Carl Halen's Gin Bottle Seven".  Apparently this band 
played in the Cincinatti OH area in the '50's and recorded a couple of 
LP's on Riverside.  They sounded great, a good trad band (tuba and 
banjo).  I found one of their LP's on E-bay, a later one recorded in 
'57, with a bass sax instead of tuba.  Does anyone remember this band or 
know what became of Carl Halen, the leader and trumpet player?
