The album is "Hooray For Hoagy!."

Here is the link to purchase:

Personnel:

Jim Cullum, cornet
Allan Vache, clarinet
Mike Pittsley, trombone
John Sheridan, piano
Howard Elkins, banjo and guitar
Jack Wyatt, bass
Ed Torres, drums

Release date: 1990

JCJB personnel in 2004:

Jim Cullum, cornet
Ron Hockett, clarinet
Kenny Rupp, trombone
Jim Turner, piano
Howard Elkins, banjo
Don Mopsick, bass
Kevin Dorn, drums

In spite of the personnel changes, the band sounds remarkably similar. We
still do most of the charts (including "Washboard Blues"), which were mainly
by Sheridan. The CD should have won a Grammy.

Speaking of this week's Riverwalk radio show, I mentioned how much I liked
John Sheridan's arrangement of Hoagie's "Washboard Blues."

Russ, I have not heard very many arrangements of that tune. John's
arrangement is so good, I can't imagine anyone doing it any different.

In that arrangement, they vary the tempo. You really should listen to it.

Listen to this week's show either on the Internet from the Riverwalk site,
or on the radio.

You can also get their recording. I can't remember which album it is on but
I'm sure Mop can tell us.
