Bill,
I have been on DJML for many years - I have had an "OKOM" jazz program
on KFJC 89.7FM <www.kfjc.org> since 1984 and we have been net-casting
for many, many years - almost since the technology has been available.
Our station has been at the lead on all sorts of issues about internet
broadcasting and I am proud to be a member of this non-commercial
station. We are located in the San Francisco/San Jose Bay Area but we
are well aware of our international capabilities. We have done remote
broadcasts from New Zealand and the UK and also many parts of the
United States.
We have several different internet feeds that will work depending on
individual connections. We do not have archival capabilities at this
time, but we are working on it!
<http://www.kfjc.org/netcast/index.php> will offer all the available
connections
(Please be aware that KFJC provides a huge variety of musical styles -
we are not just a "Jazz" station. Your ears may be stretched just a bit
by what is going on in the world of music these days!)
For particulars about my program - "The Jazz Parade" 10Am-12 Noon PST
features a wide variety of Traditional Jazz, Dixieland, Ragtime, Brass
band (New Orleans and otherwise,) Jug Band, Early Blues, Big Band
(before and into Swing), Novelty, Western Swing and recordings of bands
from al over the world that continue in the tradition of performing all
this kind of music. It is an eclectic program and the rules can change,
but I usually stick close to the roots of what has become defined as
OKOM.
I have a weekly listing of local and regional performances of this sort
of music and I also encourage any bands from whatever part of the world
they might be to continue to send me CDs and information about their
performances. I have been doing this show for 20 years and I don't plan
on stopping any time soon!
