 I agree with Jon Stutler.  Dixieland jazz is trad and big band is big
band.. 

 If I am a fan of traditional jazz (and I am) then I want to know beforehand
what style of music to expect from the band I am going to hear.  If there
are not some type of label, how do we know?

I enjoy Dire Straits, Aerosmith, Guns 'n Roses and bands of that sort... BUT
I seriously doubt anyone else on this list would want me to discuss them in
this forum.

We can like all kinds of music... But the topic of this list is Dixieland
Jazz as in the *Dixieland * Jazz Mailing List.  Now I will run for cover.  I
know the assaults will come.
