Yep your right Don,
I am sorry I misquoted an article I was reading earlier today, should have
gone back and read it again before posting that reply.
It actually said that 3.2 million jobs have been lost in the USA since 2000
and that we have the highest unemployment rate in more than nine years, along
with the Worst economic Record since Herbert Hoover's Great Depression.
This of course does not take into account all those who became unemployed and
ran out of unemployment benefits and simply do not exist any longer in the
eyes of the bean counters in Washington from either party.
Kind of ridiculous to assume that everyone who no longer is eligible to
collect unemployment is once again gainfully employed. Most of them probably are
not, but nobody is counting or looking for them.
Perhaps we could include the count for Homeless persons in with the
unemployed and get a more accurate picture, I don't know any homeless folks that are
employed either.
Musical content:
"We're in the Money Now"
And I am certain NOBODY is counting all the unemployed Dixieland Bands in the
USA.
(just to get this discussion back on track for qualification as Dixieland
related of which there were a few on the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.)
Cheers,
Tom Wiggins
