I have been in some of those court rooms and believe me the Judge does not
understand it and furthermore does not want to understand it once he sees the
750 pages of the copyright laws they trot out he flips a coin in chambers and
comes up with the winner, if the alledged copier loses he slaps a fine on him if
he has deep enough pockets to make the whole case worth while anyway.
As in many other litgation cases they are usually settled out of court with
the attorneys agreeing to pick the pockets of the acused for as much as they
can get , divide the spoils to pay their respective fees and look for the next
chump.
If you are not a Big selling prominent artist you have little or nothing to
fear because unless you were born rich and have deep pockets, event he
litgation sharks know you have nothing to get from the very nature of your employment
( a musician) .
Any lawyer who would sue a poor musician is an idiot and lower than an
ambulance chaser and eventually gives up and goes back to chasing ambulances anyway.
