List mates: The following e-mail was sent from The Berks Arts Council to
their VERY LARGE list of jazz fans, supporters and venues. It  is about
ViVa Bistro, a new Jazz Nightclub opening in Wyomissing PA. (Near
Reading, 60 miles west of Philadelphia) Isn't is a kick to see a
Dixieland Band, Grand Opening a Jazz Club that for the most part,
features more current jazz offerings.

Barbone Street opens this Friday, October 10, 9:30 PM if you are in the
area. It is the Grand Opening weekend of Jazz for the club.
The other jazzers listed, are among the cream of the crop in this region
of the USA.

Berks County is home to the Berks Jazz Fest. A 10 day affair with
approximately 150 performances, mostly smooth jazz. Our band has become
one of the featured attractions there within three years of our first
appearance. We perform Dixieland successfully there among some of the
best known names in the contemporary jazz world.

Amazing what Dixieland can still do in this day and age with an audience
of regular folks, young and old. If you're bummed out by the festival
circuit, change direction and play where the people are, in a setting
where the action is.

ORGANization, Gerald Veasley, Larry McKenna, Chris Farr, John Swana,
Jimmy Bruno, Nicole Pasternak and Ralph Lalama, Carl Filipiak and many
more.

On Wednesday and Thursday nights, starting at 8:30 p.m., the Chris
Heslop Quartet will host the weekly ViVa Jazz Jam one of the nights,
while the sensational Dave Stahl Big Band will keep the crowd swinging
the other
night.

On Sundays, there will be a Jazz Luncheon from noon to 3 p.m.
