Hi Brian.  Many thanks indeed for your e-mail.  Yes, it all fits in.  The 
sixties band was Uncle John Renshaw's Elastic Band.  I played with Mike Pointon, 
Pete Dyer and the rest many times.  Fancy Uncle John on the banjo!  As I 
recall he was lousy on it!  He also had a brass horn called a bombardon, which was 
equally bad.  But yes - on the bass, he was great.  All the best - Angus.
