They would have been balanced out by all the 104 yr olds:-)
It seems to me that we should stop worrying our pretty heads. There are
precious few fun things that newly single fifty-somethings feel able to join
in with. New people come to jazz and feel welcome so they come again....
later on they may find that they like the music:-)
Much younger people come to jazz events because they love the music, or to
please their Granny. The more mature single finds it's not a bad place to
meet a new partner and how many of us on this list did just that?

Ah now they'd have the 104 year old heads of family :-)
Bude festival is on the horizon. It'll probably be a sell-out most days and
the free events will be packed but that only tells part of the story. I
often meet people who've chosen jazz week for their family holidays because
of the street parades and the lively atmosphere. One thirty something
father said that seeing older people having fun makes him feel more
positive about his future.
I nominate this week to be Positive Thinking Week.
