Dear OKOM fans:
I am shocked that such a proposed tax is imminent in England and Wales and
possibly Scotland. I hope this is a hoax. The UK is taxed enough...I think
the aggregates taxes in the U.K. are 125% of each pound and apparently headed
for infinity.
This reminds me of the cabaret tax that the AFof M fought successfully and
repealed in 1966.
This also reminds me of the reason the American colonies fought against
"taxation without representation" in the Revolutionary War. (I know there
will be a history expert who will correct me on this...so be it).
I have been content to sit back and read the messages of this group; but this
proposed tax infuriates me. I put it in the category of pay toilets...why tax
something that all humans need to do? (Namely perform and listen to jazz)?
What will come next? A sperm tax?
Musical content: "Please say it isn't so!" or "Stop the World I want to get
off!"
Sincerely,
Art Wood
