Kenny Ball was at the Edinburgh Festival last summer,(In bad
health!)...isn't he still playing? Or perhaps he's just "guesting" at
festivals...

Interesting to note that of nine British bandleaders of the '50s mentioned
by
Norrie, four are still blowing (and leading their own bands) today - Humph,
Acker, Mike Daniels and Steve Lane. Mike Daniels appears to be active in
other areas too, judging from his cheekily-worded advert in the Jazz Guide:
"Mike Daniels - Solo, Trio, Quartet, Sex or Septet Anytime, Anywhere". :-)
