For some reason, Nat Hentoff didn't mention that trombonist Jim Collier is none other than the writer James Lincoln Collier, whose work is somewhat controversial. Some years ago, there was a debate in NYC between Collier and Wynton Marsalis. Does anyone remember this, and if so, would that person fill us in on the details? Butch Thompson >
