I am a reporter for the Cincinnati Enquirer and am working on an obituary about Matthias E. Fuchs, pianist for the Queen City Jazz Band as well as other local bands. Mr. Fuchs, 85, died Tuesday, April 1 in Hamilton, Ohio. I spoke to his niece, who said he had lost two fingers in an industrial accident, but taught himself to play even better with the stubs.
