Not having heard the Armstrong interviews in question, it's hard to say but
I suspect that these were made with at least his awareness, if not his
outright consent. That may account for why they have remained in his estate,
and not released as a separate package, as would also be the case with his
personal writings.

It's interesting that so many of you are sure what Pops wanted, because
there seems to be very little from him on that regard. I mean, he died while
I was still a kid, as have most of the folks who were closest to him. Who
out there has actually discussed his legacy with Louis? I'm sorry, I can't
hear you...
