Somewhere in the rules of netiquette emailers are advised to make no
responses to messages of a perceived inflammatory nature in order to avoid
starting a war. They are wise words.
This thread has caused an awful lot of damage and ill-feeling not least
because Jerry Brown, Will Connelly and Ivor Jones failed to heed the above
advice. In the past I've been guilty of the same thing as have others on
this list.
As a result of these vitriolic exchanges we now appear to have lost Ivor -
who might not be one of our most prominent members nevertheless his periodic
contributions usually make good sense and are of value. It is time to put an
end to this thread - it arouses strong feelings, particularly among the
Yanks, but the subject matter is totally irrelevant to DJML.
I for one would be happy to welcome Ivor back - let us put this sorry mess
behind us and learn a lesson from it. Let the trespassers forgive each other
then let us all move on.
How about it listmates?
