[Dixielandjazz] 76 trombones

Though I am a Michigan resident, and usually would pull for the state's Big
Ten teams regardless of which one was in the Rose Bowl games of the past, I
will admit that I rooted for the Buckeyes yesterday. My dad was a Buckeye
born. Had it been a year when Michigan State had a good coach and played
like it used to play before the school decided it would hire "good guys" to
coach (and who let a team go sour and end up quitters as they did this year)
I'd have rooted even harder for Michigan State. But this year they got their
heads handed to them and it was not just embarrassing -- it was cruel and
unusual punishment at the hands of Penn State.
But U. of Michigan is the darling of the Detroit and big city press and
gets its rump kissed up to the point where
rooting for the Buckeyes was easy to do.
A good and hard fought game, regardless, but a little humble pie for the
"Champions of the West" is not a bad thing.
JAZZ CONNECTION: Best thing about U. of M is Dr. and Professor James
Dapogny. Now there's something worth cheering about!
