Hi Pat,
I have no idea, sorry.  I'm not involved in the entertainment industry, and 
I don't know if ASCAP has any presence in Canada.  I believe there are two 
copyright collectives in Canada who collect and distribute royalties, but 
exactly what they collect for, etc. I also don't know.
