[Dixielandjazz] Earnest lady at the radio station

Correct me if I'm wrong (I was wrong once before, many many years ago :-)),
but restaurants, bars, etc. pay a yearly blanket fee to ASCAP to play any of
the tunes
as often as they wished.  Is this not the same for radio stations?
