Hi Tom,

Glad we are speaking again! 
The Drunken idiot who is out to impress his mates or girlfriend and tries to 
be clever deserves everything he gets and I admire your constraint. The 
trouble is that I have heard some 'artistes' not just in jazz or even music 
'scoring' with 'put downs' for their own amusement or that of their friends 
on some poor innocent admirer who thinks he or she is paying them a 
complement. That shows a rather high degree of arrogant rudeness!
