Hello Jim BB
Thanks for the info on the Webster Hotel - it set me searching. Yes, the
building has survived as a block of apartments. There's a web site which
gives some details - even a photo taken recently. It seems that the hotel
was the Chicago office of the Victor company in 1926, which explains the
use of the ballroom as a recording venue until such time (1927) as the
company built a custom-purpose studio at North Michigan Avenue.
