We have never attended the Jazz Heritage Festival that New Orleans holds
every year-- usually the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May.
It is held at the fair grounds and from what I understand draws a huge
crowd. However, most of their music is FAR from jazz. I found out, though,
that they devote one smaller venue to traditional jazz and another to blues.

The festival we like to attend is the French Quarter Festival held about two
weeks prior to the Jazz Heritage.
