[Dixielandjazz] Still honking in Madrid!

I'm still here, as I have been from almost the beginning. I'm an itinerant
washboardist, sitting in occasionally with this and that local band, but I
never had a regular gig. It was listmate Bill Gunter (RIP) who inspired me
to take up the instrument. I bought mine at the first International
Washboard Festival in Logan, OH.
We (my bride and I) have attended many trad festivals over the
years (Moodus & Guilford, CT; Sarasota & Clearwater, FL; Logan, OH; Port
Angeles, WA; Victoria, BC; Hoboken, Waterloo, Madison & Bridgewater, NJ;
and of course all over CA - Santa Rosa, Costa Mesa, San Diego and the daddy
of them all, Sacramento, plus a few jazz cruises. We always enjoyed meeting
various listmates, especially Bill & Bev Gunter. But sad to say, the combo
of Covid and advancing age have put those days behind us.
Yes, Jim, I too remember some of those quite heated discussions. They drove
some members away, perhaps permanently, alas.
Anyway, thanks for instigating this little remembrance. Perhaps we'll hear
from others as well.
