What I will write will surprise.

I met Ken Peplowski once at the Moodus Traditional Jazz Camp circa 20 years ago. I have a lot of respect for him, I like his playing and I listen to his videos on Youtube.From Europe from where I write (Geneva) there is something I do not understand. Why would a U.S. citizen suffering from an illness however heavy and serious the illness may be, needs money! Is there not a social security covering the entirety of the hospital and doctors’ expenses in the U.S.A.? 

 

If there is and the present fund-raising concern a financial help during the disease, it is obviously something else.

 

Now that I write this, I realize that I had in the past run into such fund-raising campaigns without paying too much attention, but this time I could not refrain from expressing openly my surprise for the reasons mentioned above.

 

Kindly elucidate at your best convenience. My intention is not to bother.
