[Dixielandjazz] The Hot Sardines

Dear Listmates,
A mate who likes jazz sent me the following YouTube video with the comment, "A great little video! The jazz isn't too bad either."

For some reason, I have never heard of the group so checked out its other 'special' videos and several club performances. 
And also turned up the following background information:

Are they, what our US DJLMers would refer to, as "Out of left field"?
Is it OKOM?
