All very well Mrs. Diller's advice
to marry a partner same age as yourself
as long as you find one still fairly nice,
not one of such bulk their weight broke the shelf
they might have been waiting on, a long list,
gradually however getting harder and colder
and making arrangements arriving late
and even bigger, brassier, bolder ---

Given this page's purpose I'd ask whether
you might manage to make music together
and if nervous, not desirous of taunting fate,
with lead sheets and chords brought in a folder.

Together 40 years, not a day too much
the song says, calling the wife the "dear old Dutch"(Cockney slang for mate, rhymes with "Dutch plate")
suggesting Bandsman Brandsma on a polder?

Agatha Christie would however insistyou do best to marry an archaeologist --
like him with whom she enjoyed the married state,
who'll appreciate you the more as you get older.
