You're going to confuse us nerd types. The Universal Serial Bus is the 
circuitry inside the computer and the flat connector to the outside world. A 
"thumb drive," which is a portable memory card, USES a USB connector to 
attach to a computer. But the USB connector can also be used by a plug-in 
hard drive, a plug-in floppy disc drive, a printer cable, etc.

But yes, because of its size a thumb drive might well be the better way to 
send music files to someone else.

If I may suggest a different direction, I've found converting everything 
recorded to USBs is better. A Universal Serial Bus, also called a "thumb 
drive" is smaller but even has a larger memory potential, or a smaller one, 
if that's what you need. You can ship it with a brochure or a packet that 
contains all the information you wish to add.
