[Dixielandjazz] Ken Colyer's Goin' home

Just one correction, Tony: Chris Barber didn't own the Timeless label. It
was established by Wim and Ria Wigt. The Timeless Historical label was
partly subsidized by Chris.

Thank you, Gerard.

The version by the Zenith Hot Stompers (the band I was with for 23 years) is
interesting because it comes from the CD "Chris Barber with the ZHS",
recorded at a live concert in 1992. Chris was so pleased with the result
that he issued it on his own "Timeless" label.

For those with too much time on their hands :-), you can find the album on
Spotify, together with the recordiings we made with Humph in 1982 and Wally
Fawkes in 1992 (the latter includes "Isle of Capri" which is very firmly
based on the Colyer version).

There are many recorded versions of this tune. When checking Tom Lord's "The
Jazz Discography Online" it is clear that there is or are other tunes with
the same title.

Colyer's tune is only played by (mainly British) traditional bands. Colyer
himself often played it. I can name some other bands:

Savannah Jazz Band (sign off tune), John Maddock's Jazzmen, Papa Bue's
Viking Jazz Band [DK], Johnny Silvo & Diz Disley, Barry palser's Savoy
Jazzmen, The Zenith Hot Stompers, Gabadela Jazz Band [DK],

New Haranni Poison Mixers [D], Grand Dominion Jazz Band [Canada], Peoria
Jazz Band [Swe], New Black Eagle Jazz Band [USA], Albion Jazz Band, Monty
Sunshine's Jazz Band, Gentlemen of Jazz [DK].

The Goin' Home Band (!!).

And there are more!
