Re.Sit or Stand
I’m late to the discussion, but the reason my group sits is Because as drummer, I have no choice, and as leader, I prefer eye contact, and serve as the “quarterback” in calling tunes, counting off, pointing to soloists, shouting  out coda signs and the like, and cut offs.  I feel we are tighter when we can all see each other to coordinate.
Finally, we play arrangements that need some concentration in addition to the improvising.
