[Dixielandjazz] Raymond Scott

I've been a Raymond Scott fan since I first heard "Twilight In Turkey",
"Powerhouse" at some time during the 1940's. It was exciting. It had a
unique sound. I liked the whimsy of his 6 man Quintette.

 

Much later, I planned a 2 hour radio show featuring Scott's music. Scott
lived nearby. He had late stage Alzheimer's disease. His wife told me that
she would gladly be a guest on my radio show. She also loaned me some of his
later recordings. 

 

Raymond Scott died on February 8, 1994
