is a slang term for something missing from jazz. and it would seem the incomes of participants in that long-ago festival (and no doubt many before and since)
Money
thus the FROG story >
> "I'm not a princess," said the pretty girl, "I'm an investment
> consultant. And even if I could by kissing turn you back into a jazz
> musician I assure you you're financially better off remaining as a frog!"

and Ken Peplowski on the amazing power around jazz musicians which speeds up the weight-loss of any packets of money between the offer and any handing over
> And then there's Ken Peplowski, who surely must have been joking when
> he said there was a WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE JAZZ MUSICIAN quiz
> ---? Rubbish, Mr. Peplowski, the top prize can't have been nearly as
> much as two hundred bucks!

And nobody, said Bessie Smith, knows you when you're down and out,.expressing a resolve that should a dollar ever again land on the palm of one of her handsshe would hold on to it till the eagle grins ....
one wonders what could be composed regarding the features of other sentient creatures represented on banknotes.Actually Robert the Bruce looks rather eagle-headed on a Scottish twenty pound note.I'd prefer not to conjecture an expression on the face of our own Dear Queen being held so tight in saxophonist sweatbut I do have a nil dollar bill with the legend SCREW THE POOR ..  Pre-Trump it is -- but I shall not specify the president represented
??? ? ??? ??? ???????????  OK?
