Jean Marc Ternois saw the light.  This was a joke, folks.  I once introduced
the song with my faux translation at an all-star concert, and the clarinet
player (who is a real Sidney Bechet aficionado) got very upset.

 

Here's another.  Petite Fleur translates as Little Floor, or Closet.
