Our band The Climax Jazz Band first met Spiegle at the Chicago airport,
on the way to Sacramento. We became good friends with him and even
visited him at his house. We made a recording with him and also played
for and with him, when he got an honorary degree at his University on
his 85 birthday. We played several gigs with him and he came to Toronto
to play with us. His daughter Silvia (?) often came with him. Good
memories about Spiegle, what a guy !!! Jack Vincken
