Dear Listmates,
Are there any 78 record collectors still out there?
If so, do any of you have (or know someone who does) the original Okeh recordings of Paul MaresAnd His Friars Society Orchestra recorded in Chicago on 7 January 1935.
Two takes of each of the four tunes, "Nagasaki/Reincarnation/Maple Leaf Rag/The Land Of Dreams", were recorded.
However, there is a skip in the clarinet solo, after Jess Stacy's piano solo on "Maple Leaf Rag".
The 1940s reissue of this tune in the Columbia Hot Jazz Classics series is a composite of takes -1 and -2.
I have been researching this session since 1993 and now have all the reissues on LP and CD.
I would like to tidy it up.

What I still need is an iPhone shot of the label with the matrix details in the runoff groove of the Okeh 78s of each tune.
I have images of the two Columbia 78s.

There were also queries regarding the composer/copyright credits for the tunes, but DLMLer Dick Baker and I appear to have sorted this out a much as can be.
Kind regards to all,
Bill.
