Dear Steve, Steve and all,
We all recall the famous line from Samuel What’s-his-name that "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated.”
Here in Sydney in 2001, a tribute obituary of the wonderful 1930s-40s swing band singer, Barbara James, appeared in the Sydney Morning Herald. (She had only moved to a nursing home.)
She was absolutely delighted and observed at the time that you rarely hear what people say about you after you die.
She died in 2004 aged 94.
Cheers,
Bill.
