[Dixielandjazz] mosaic showing signs of wear, tear, even crumbling

I have a personal story about the good people at Mosaic.
One day a couple years ago there was a "Running Low!" email come through, and on the list was the Jack Teagarden's Roulette Sessions set. I (as soon as I'd seen the email) clicked on it, and the link went nowhere. I wrote, and it seems I was just a wee bit too late. Weeks, maybe months, later, I get an email out of nowhere from Mosaic with the same subject line I'd used before. The nice gentleman on the other side of the digital orthicon tube (I believe it was Mr Cuscuna himself) informed me that he'd just been in the warehouse doing some straightening up, and lo and behold there on a lone shelf somewhere deep in its bowels was a forgotten Teagarden set. And he said the first thought he had was "That guy in California!" So, he offered it to me with free shipping, if I was interested. I asked tongue-in-cheekedly if the "Running Low!" discount still applied as well. He said, (ahem), "No, sorry." And of course I snapped it up.
I have several of their sets, one of which has met the "Permanently Out Of Stock" standard (Artie Shaw). (One other, also permanently gone, I sold long ago to a German fella on eBay. Gave me my only German feedback, he did.) My only regret (sic) is that I'm not into the modern stuff.
So, as Mr Cuscuna says, if there's anything you want, now's the time. And, of course, donate a whopping load of money to keep Mosaic alive, if you're able and of a mind.
