In the same spirit as Al Cohn,
when he had declared himself impressed by the honesty of a drunk, and was withdrawing a banknote from his billfold, suddenly fixed his glass eye on the man and asked:"here, how do I know you're not going to use this to buy FOOD?"

I hope I don't see any of you hot jazzmen expressing a wish to deliver
a note-accurate and syllable accurate straight realisation of printed words and music?

like way down lower than New Orlean'where the muddy bottom has no blue sheen
and enormous inedible catfish lurk,
in a worse-than-Whiteman's-worst
elephant murk

as unsentimental as "Sonny Boy"
(not a Williamson -- a blacked-up Jolson ploy)
able in compare to make seem unHammy
the million miles I'd walk to flee a certain "Mammy".
(Mammy, Mammy, cound you ask for anything lower?)
